Candidate

Sushant was a 12th Grade student who was to appear for his SAT. His GPA was around 3.5.

Task

He was interested in applying to pre-medical as well as technology courses. His passion in both these fields made it very difficult to formulate an application narrative. This application was to portray his areas of strength in both these disciplines. It also had to reflect his playful and surprising personality which otherwise could seem frivolous on the application. As of this point, the other aspects of the profile also seemed incomplete.

How did we help?

We began by understanding his complex requirements. We began by helping him select the AP subjects, obtaining the SAT score of 1470 and started building his CV. We advised him to take certain development and co-curricular projects. We used the diversity of his profile to portray his areas of strength. These had to particularly fall in line with his areas of interests as well. Our process of character sketch development helped us in understanding his experiences and how his future aspirations cultivate from it.

Outcome

He received admits from NYU, UMD, and Cornell.

Candidate

Vandy aka Vanshika did her undergrad in public policy. She wanted to get into a grad program.

Task

Vandy wanted to apply to IVY as well as non-IVY universities. The project works looked good, but her version of draft essays wasn’t up to the mark. She seemed overwhelmed with a lot of details asked in the applications. The student was so passionate of her projects and work that on many occasions, she would get derailed from her main purpose. This scenario seemed to totally mask her strengths of which she had so many.

How did we help?

We began by understanding the target careers which she wanted to accomplish as a development practitioner. We explained to her what her life like would be like working in the multi-lateral institutions.

Apart from that, we formulated her detailed character analysis to represent her priorities clearly without getting into the exhibitory mode. Her projects, internships, college credits and challenging assignments all were presented carefully. The recommendation letters were reviewed, and inputs were given on the most suitable entities who can help in this matter. Help was also provided in reviewing the scholarship applications, facing the interviews as applicable along with the support to follow-up with the university after the acceptance.

Outcome

She received admits from Georgetown, Sciences-Po, Graduate Institute of Geneva, and Columbia.

Candidate

Krushna did her undergrad in computer sciences. She wanted to get into a grad program.

Task

Krushna wanted to guidance of understanding the implication of the major/minor combinations she chooses in her career. Her GRE score was average. Her research papers had to better represent her abilities. Also, her co-curricular activities were regular in nature. Her goals were to get into research areas.

How did we help?

We helped her understand the implications of choosing certain major/minor combinations and shortlisted universities which can better suit her areas of interest and career goals. After assessing her details, we helped her to build the CV and profile which represented her strengths well. During the two-year association with us, she worked on the areas of her research, she developed her research skills and community presence. We helped her review recommendation letters and build a detailed analysis of her profile. Her SOPs reflected her strengths well.

Outcome

She is a happy student at University of California, Santa Barbara who received her TA-ship in the first semester.

Candidate

Abhi did his undergrad in civil engineering. He wanted to get into a grad program.

Task

Abhi has a long association with Rauch Education. He was also our crisis management student with the Academy of Applied Management Sciences. This endeavor inspired him to take the grad program. Apart from this admission process, he had to be counselled, he had to be prepared for his visa interview and he had to be equipped to make the most out of a grad program. The gap of education between his country and the United States had to be closed.

How did we help?

Apart from the admission services, he was counselled and prepared for the visa interview. We advised him on which universities to prefer after receiving the multiple admits. We would like to credit him as he could appreciate the difference between the education levels of the home and target country in the matters of education. He was trained on the research writing, diversity and inclusion and how he should interpret the university communication and represent himself confidently in the new world as a part of our Grad-Readiness Program. Guidance was also offered to him on preparing himself for the travel and how to negotiate a lease in the new country. Later, we helped him in selecting the major/minor combination pre-requisites and subjects which we had planned earlier for him. As a part of our alumni group, he also discusses the projects he needs to undertake and internships he needs to work on during his university journey.

Outcome

Admitted to University of Southern California and University of Illinois Chicago.

Candidate

Parth did his undergrad in aeronautical engineering. He wanted to make the most out of his grad program experience.

Task

Parth joined us after he got accepted into his grad program. He wanted to seek support in location finalization, grad-readiness, move-in support, course selections and internship activities. He wanted a friend who can help him with academic related problems in building competencies, making choices and understanding the university projects clearly.

How did we help?

Apart from the grad-readiness services, we helped Parth with the university academic support services which would help him clearly see the concepts taught in the universities. He could not only ace his GPAs with that but also got into the mechanical engineering major of his choice.

Outcome

Thriving student at Arizona State University.
